Each year, millions of Americans are diagnosed with eating disorders, and 90% of those diagnosed are adolescent and young women. Even more alarming, this number has doubled since the 1960s, with the age groups getting younger, as young as seven years of age.

About the presenter: Rebecca L. Manley, M.S. is the President and Founder of the Multiservice Eating Disorders Association, (MEDA). Before founding MEDA in 1994, Ms. Manley worked as a therapist for a residential treatment facility and has been teaching and developing an eating disorder prevention program for early childhood educators and high schools. Ms. Manley is the author of Teaching Body Confidence: A Comprehensive Curriculum for Girls, and has presented more than four hundred lectures on eating disorders, media influences, self-esteem, and body image. Nationally recognized for her work in eating disorders, she has been quoted in several national publications and has appeared on many national news programs.
