Dietary deficiency concerns are not strictly a problem of Third World children. Any child may be vulnerable to the maladies of poor nutrition due to dietary behaviors.

The dietary habits of our children profoundly effect brain development, the ability to pay attention, and behavior. Research supports the claim that dietary deficiencies lead to compromised health, intelligence, and basic social skills. Even mild nutritional deficiency may effect normal brain function.

Dr. James M. Greenblatt, M.D., the author of this webinar, has created this program to help parents understand the critical link between proper nutrition and behavior in children and adolescents.

Nutrition and Behavior Problems in Children and Adolescents is an exploration of this link. Issues addressed include:

  • Dietary habits
  • Body image and diet
  • Obesity
  • Legislative actions regarding food enrichment and prohibiting the sale of fatty and sugary food in schools

What will this webinar offer you?

  • A listing of critical vitamin and minerals necessary to proper nutrition
  • The role of essential fatty acids in a healthy diet
  • Tips for recognizing the physical signs of nutritional deficiency in children
  • A look at behavior problems and diet

If you are concerned about any of these facts, this webinar is for you.

  • 75% of female teenagers under age 16 are dieting and trying to lose weight
  • Obesity has doubled in children and tripled in adolescents
  • Nutritional deficiencies are increasingly common in the Standard American Diet (S.A.D.)

About the presenter: James M. Greenblatt, M.D., is the Chief Medical Officer of Walden Behavioral Care in Waltham, Massachusetts. He received his medical degree and completed his adult psychiatry residency at George Washington University in Washington, DC and completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Medical School.
