GOAL: This one-day workshop leads the students through the steps in developing and implementing a 5S program. 5S is the starting point of any on-the-floor improvement activity and the key to successful change.
BENEFITS OF TRAINING: At the end of the course you will have all the tools required to implement your own 5S program including understanding how to setup an organized process to: • Identify unnecessary equipment • Better organize your manufacturing floor • Increase your machine uptime • Improve your productivity • Establish improvements that will last
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS: This program selects one of your existing manufacturing areas and uses it to illustrate the steps in the 5S process. A video recording is made of the area and then is evaluated by the students, including identifying changes that can be made to achieve manufacturing improvements.
PROGRAM OUTLINE: • Sort • Set in order • Shine • Standardize • Sustain
Methodology: Training sessions are comprised of lecture, written exercises, large and small group discussions, PowerPoint and video recording of an existing area and analyzing that area to demonstrate the effectiveness of the 5S process. Workshops materials include a detailed participant guide and video recordings made in your manufacturing areas.
Who Should Attend: Manufacturing managers and supervisors, engineering, and quality control managers and personnel, quality control personnel, machine operators, and other personnel involved in developing and operating an SPC program.
