Introduction to AutoCAD Seminar

GOAL: This workshop is for new users who want a solid foundation in AutoCAD. This course will cover all basics from drawing and editing, to layer controls, dimensioning and plotting.

BENEFITS OF TRAINING: At the end of the course you will have all the tools required to create and modify drawings using AutoCAD.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS: This program features hands on use of AutoCAD with realistic examples. Each student will perform exercises using AutoCAD to learn the logic and detailed operations required to effectively utilize AutoCAD.

•    Working with AutoCAD today
•    Using the AutoCAD interface
•    The drawing area
•    Menus and toolbars
•    The command line
•    The status bar
•    Creating your first drawing
•    Saving a drawing
•    Opening a drawing
•    Using templates
•    Setting up default conditions

METHODOLOGY: Training sessions are comprised of lecture, written exercises, large and small group discussions, PowerPoint and video recording. Attendees receive a copy of AutoCAD 2007 Bible by Ellen Finkelstein. Including a CD with hundreds of AutoCAD examples and a trial version of AutoCAD 2007.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Draftspersons, tool designers, technical inspectors, machine shop and tool room supervisors, manufacturing and project engineers and others seeking to gain more in-depth knowledge of AutoCAD.
